You may have seen by now that some shiny new stainless steel cycle stands are at last being sited in our patch of Gloucester Rd. Twenty-four should be going in which doubles the number roughly and is what we were hoping for! This shows how our own field work has helped influence the council since we [...] A short update on progress with sustainable transport and cycling facilities for Gloucester Road. Earlier this year, Bristol Council’s Neighbourhood Transport Initiative awarded Sustainable Bishopston a grant to provide cycle parking and sustainable transport information along Gloucester Road. A small team are working on location, design and procurement of cycle racks and a notice-board. We now have confirmation that our grant application has been approved. At the end of February 2008 we applied to Bristol Council’s Neighbourhood Transport Initiative for a grant to help us with this project. Watch this space for the results. |
